Martin Parkes has had a lifelong interest in healthy living and good nutrition. After serving in the Royal Air Force and working as an engineer in the electronics industry, he made the decision to pursue his passion for helping others improve their health and wellbeing through a personalised, holistic approach.
In 2008, Martin returned to education to train as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist. He began his career at a natural health clinic in St Albans, later acquiring a salon on Chesham High Street, where he continues to practice today. As demand for soft tissue therapy grew, massage became the primary focus of the business. In 2019, Martin restructured the business to launch The Massage Spa and developed Pure Body Fix®, a brand centred on personalised health principles.
The Inspiration Behind Pure Body Fix®
Martin’s diverse experience treating clients of all ages and backgrounds revealed how his engineering mindset provided a unique perspective on musculoskeletal issues and the interconnected nature of body systems. He observed that treating only the symptoms often failed to deliver lasting results. Instead, sustainable improvement came from identifying root causes—such as stress, inactivity, and poor nutrition—and addressing them through education and lifestyle change.
This led to the creation of Pure Body Fix®: a comprehensive, person-centred approach designed to uncover and resolve the deeper issues behind recurring physical problems. At its core is a personalised “toolkit” of treatments and coaching tailored to each individual’s specific needs.
Developing the Pure Body Fix® Toolkit
The toolkit concept is central to understanding Pure Body Fix®. No two people are the same, so the approach must be equally unique. Depending on the individual, Martin applies a combination of advanced soft-tissue techniques alongside nutrition and health coaching.
The evolution of the Pure Body Fix® toolkit is ongoing. Modern life presents increasing physical, emotional, and stress-related challenges that affect overall wellbeing. With preventable diseases and lifestyle-related conditions on the rise, Martin’s mission is to provide the tools people need to live healthier, longer, and more balanced lives.
